Adipex-P
Adipex (phentermine) is a drug specially designed for people suffering from obesity. It is supposed to be combined with a healthier diet and exercise to achieve best results. This medicine is intended for short-term treatment – from 3 to 6 weeks. You will need to take it on an empty stomach, usually in the morning, making sure it’s at least 10 hours before you have to go to bed. Taking phentermine in the evening can cause insomnia. Side effects have been reported by people taking this medicine, especially at the beginning of the treatment. The following ones are most common: dry mouth, itching, constipation, diarrhea, feeling anxious, unpleasant taste in your mouth, trouble sleeping, nervousness, headache, dizziness, and tremors. Unless the mild side effects mentioned change in intensity, there is no need to tell your health care provider about them. Make sure you contact the doctor that prescribed Adipex about any of the following serious side effects: unusual thoughts or behavior, seizure, uneven heartbeats, high blood pressure, chest pain, fast heartbeat, buzzing in the ears, swelling, blurred vision, confusion, rapid weight gain, and shortness of breath. Any other reactions you develop must be also reported. Never start taking Adipex if you have a history of an allergic reaction to this medicine. If you take this drug anyway, the following symptoms of an allergic reaction may develop: rash, hives, trouble breathing or swallowing, and a number of other ones. Seek emergency medical help if you are having an allergic reaction to this medicine and do not take any more of it. You must not start taking Adipex if you have recently used any MAO inhibitors, such as tranylcypromine, selegiline, phenelzine, rasagiline, and isocarboxazid. Make sure 2 weeks pass after the last dose of MAO inhibitor before you take Adipex. Do not start taking this medicine before talking to your health care provider if you have any of the following medical conditions: arteriosclerosis, seizure disorder, a history of drug or alcohol abuse, heart disease, overactive thyroid or some other thyroid disorder, glaucoma, diabetes, or anxiety disorder. The conditions mentioned may affect the dose you are prescribed. Store Adipex in some place where it will not be accessed by other people, especially those with a history of drug or alcohol addiction. Adipex can form a habit and should be used with caution.
