After a lot of testing of a variety of platforms, we have decided to use WordPress for our new Accore Solutions site. In fact, we've chosen the new 'hosted' option – where we don't even have to install / configure it on our own servers(!)
Why have we done this? Simply, because we reckon that although not quite perfect, WordPress is a very good platform for sites with a 'news' orientation – which is what we want for this new site. Also, although the hosted version is more limited when it comes to to customising, it offers a lot of useful features which work very well; there are some very attractive designs to choose from – and it is easy and quick to setup – which leaves more time to work on clients' projects!
We have also been testing other solutions for different types of web projects and will be using some of these as well as WordPress (most likely this time on our own servers) for several exciting projects this year. Watch this space!
